Sourced from Flourish Robots' launch announcement, September 29, 2026, the company's Flourish 1 terms of sale, and founder interviews with The Robot Report and Forbes.

Flourish Robots opened preorders on September 29, 2026, for Flourish 1, a wheeled home robot with two arms, listing it on its order page at $3,555 for 50 numbered units with an estimated December 2026 ship date. The company says an owner teaches the robot a chore in about 30 minutes by guiding it from a phone, then sets it to repeat on a schedule. Its terms of sale describe Flourish 1 as an experimental product sold as is, with no warranty and no returns after delivery. This comes from Flourish directly.

What this means for buyers

Flourish's terms are specific about the limits. They say the robot cannot work around water, lift more than 1.5 kg (3.3 lb), handle sharp objects, or climb stairs, and that it will sometimes fail at a task it finished correctly the day before. Founder Antoine Marcel told John Koetsier at Forbes, "It works reliably, but still relatively slowly." The order page puts a taught task's success rate at 80%, up from 60% a year ago, without saying how that is measured.

On those terms, the first batch is an early-access unit for light chores on one floor, not finished housework. The buyer also takes on the ownership risk: there is no warranty, and the terms leave repairs, parts, and software updates to Flourish's discretion.

Marcel told Forbes the robot works autonomously once a task is taught, but it depends on the internet. Mike Oitzman at The Robot Report reports that its higher-level behavior runs in the cloud. Flourish says the most demanding chores need either a home computer with a high-end graphics card or a paid subscription, and its terms allow those cloud services to change or end.

What we don't know

  • What a buyer pays at order. The order page describes a $1,555 deposit, fully refundable until shipping. The terms, last updated September 8, 2026, say payment is taken in full when ordering.
  • Whether shipping units load a dishwasher. The launch announcement lists it as a teachable task; the terms rule out operation around water, and The Robot Report says the first generation will not do dishes.
  • What the subscription for the most demanding chores costs.

What to watch

The December 2026 ship date. Flourish's terms call it an estimate and promise buyers the choice of a revised date or a full refund if it slips. The first owner accounts after delivery would be the first evidence from outside the company.
