Figure AI said in its Helix 2.5 announcement on September 17, 2026, that Helix 2.5, the AI model that runs its humanoid robot, completed 56% of chore trials in 30 Bay Area homes the robot had not been trained in. The company says it rented the homes, collected no data in any of them, and had the robot use each home's own beds, couches, and folding surfaces. The robot was tested on 3 chores: making a bed, folding towels, and picking up toys in a living room. Figure says the robot ran autonomously, a trial counted only if the whole job was finished, any trial that needed a person to step in for safety was scored as a failure, and the same setup without pretraining on Index, its library of human task video, completed 9%.

What this means for buyers

Figure lists no price or home-sale date on its Figure 03 product page, as of October 3, 2026, so this does not change what a buyer can purchase today. It changes how much weight Figure's home claims can carry. In January, Figure showed its robot unloading a dishwasher with software trained on data from the place where it worked. This test used homes the robot had never seen, set pass criteria before testing, and counted failures. That is closer to what an owner's home would ask of it.

The numbers come from Figure directly, and they show the distance left. The robot finished the whole job in just over half its attempts. Humanoids Daily, reading Figure's results chart, reports 67% for bed making and 40% for toy pickup. Someone in the house would still finish or redo much of the work. Figure's announcement does not say how many failed trials ended with a person stepping in.

If the results hold outside Figure's own trials, they likely improve a Figure robot running Helix 2.5 at making beds and folding towels in an unfamiliar home, on that home's own furniture, for a household willing to finish some of those jobs itself.
